2006: Amazon launched Amazon Web Service (AWS) on a utility computing basis although the initial released dated back to July 2002.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a collection of remote computing services (also called web services) that together make up a cloud computing platform, offered over the Internet by Amazon.com.
The most central and well-known of these services are Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud )and Amazon S3 (Simple Storage Service).

· Amazon WorkSpaces offers you an easy way to Provide A Cloud-Based Desktop Experience to your end-users.
· You simply select from a choice of bundles that offer a range of different amounts of CPU, memory, storage, and a choice of applications.
· Users can connect from a PC, Mac desktop computer, iPad, Kindle, or Android tablet.
2). Amazon WorkSpaces Application Manager (WAM)
· Amazon WAM offers a fast, flexible, and secure way for you to Deploy and Manage Applications for Amazon WorkSpaces.
· Amazon WAM is an AWS service that offers you on-demand access to desktop applications, with streamlined application delivery to your Amazon WorkSpaces WorkSpace.
· Amazon WAM accelerates software deployment, updates, patching, and retirement by packaging Microsoft Windows desktop applications into virtual containers that run as though they are installed natively.
· Amazon WAM is available in two versions:
1. Amazon WAM Lite and
2. Amazon WAM Standard.
· With Amazon WAM Lite, you can manage and deliver applications from the AWS Marketplace free of charge. You pay only for the applications that your users activate.
· With Amazon WAM Standard, you can build your application catalog with line-of-business applications, third-party applications for which you own licenses, and applications from the AWS Marketplace for Desktop Apps.You also gain access to additional features.
3). Amazon WorkDocs
· Amazon WorkDocs is a fully managed, Secure Enterprise Storage And Sharing Service with strong administrative controls and feedback capabilities that improve user productivity.
· Your files are stored in the cloud, safely and securely. Amazon WorkDocs even includes a synchronization application that always keeps selected folders on your local computer in sync with your cloud folders.
· Your files are only visible to you, and your designated contributors and viewers. Other members of your organization do not have access to any of your files unless you specifically grant them access.
· You can share your files with other members of your organization for collaboration or review.The Amazon WorkDocs Collaboration Client Applications can be used to view many different types of files, depending on the Internet media type of the file. Amazon WorkDocs supports all common document and image formats, and support for additional media types is constantly being added.
· Amazon WorkMail is a Managed Business Email and Calendaring Service that offers strong security controls and support for existing desktop and mobile clients.
· You can access your email, contacts, and calendars using Microsoft Outlook, your browser, or their native iOS and Android email applications.
· You can integrate Amazon WorkMail with your existing corporate directory and control both the keys that encrypt your data and the location in which your data is stored.
The terminology and concepts that are central to your understanding and use of Amazon WorkMail are described below.
· Organization: A tenant setup for Amazon WorkMail.
· Alias: A globally unique name to identify your organization. The alias is used to access the Amazon WorkMail web application (https://youralias.awsapps.com/mail).
· Test mail domain: A domain is automatically configured during setup that can be used for testing Amazon WorkMail.
· Domain: The web address that comes after the @ symbol in an email address. You can add a domain that receives mail and delivers it to mailboxes in your organization.
· Directory: A Simple AD directory or AD Connector directory created in AWS Directory Service.
· User: A user created in the AWS Directory Service and enabled for Amazon WorkMail.
· Group: A group used in AWS Directory Service used as distribution list or security group in Amazon WorkMail.
· Mobile device policy: Various IT policy rules that control the security features and behavior of a mobile device.
